Rejecting the theory of evolution and basing our findings on the bible. Most christians accept the bible as divinely inspired by God. The book of Genesis gives an account of earth’s creation and the first account of the Sabbath, as a day of rest.
“1 Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished. 2 And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. 3 Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made. “Genesis 2: 1-3 NKJV
On finishing God’s creation of earth and all that is in it, God rested and made it a holy day. He sanctified the Sabbath making it holy, consecrated and a covenant between God and mankind. God spoke it to Adam and Eve.
8 “Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.
9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work,
10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates.
11 For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy. Exodus 20: 8-11 NIV
In Exodus God wrote it with his finger into a tablet of stone. Reinforcing what his will is for his people, remembering that the Ten Commandments was not only given to the Israelites but to the others that left Egypt with them.
This confirms God’s will for the observance of the Sabbath.
